Monguis rug for Ames (2024)

The village of Monguis is known for its charming architecture on quaint cobblestone streets. The tundra of the Andes region, on the other hand, is known for its rugged beauty and frosty flair - which is increasingly threatened by climate change. Our studio combined these drastic contrasts to create a geometrically carpet, that unites modern design with traditional craftsmanship.
The Monguis rug for Ames is produced using the traditional warp and weft method. Using traditional techniques and with great skill, the carpet artisans weave 100% virgin wool into abstract strokes and vibrant shapes, combining vibrant shapes, combining undyed and dyed fibers.
