trails (2007)

Old, scratched, spent. These objects have long been destined for the trash can. Yet they also have the appealing patina of age. Etched with the sign of life, they have stories to tell. Trails turns old furniture into exhibits, opening people´s eyes to the real value of things. Flaws and blemishes, along with scratches, cracks, and stains are what give the pieces their indivituality. The specific relationship between people and objects is brought into the foreground. Trails rediscovers signs of use. They are indentified, removed from the original object, and documented and filed at the fair stand. This transfomation gives autonomy to these objects trouvés and enhances their value.Something old becomes something new. The perception of the viewer is playful altered. in collaboration with Meike Langer, Susan Windrich, Catherine Werdel and Kathrin Schumacher
