Banjooli for Moroso (2013 - 14)

Joining the creations of Tord Boontje, Ayse Birsel and Bibi Seck, Patricia Urquiola and Dominique Pétot, there´s a new chair in the M´Afrique collection. Seating made using woven threads normally used for fishing nets, the design are all different and orioginal, like their names. handwoven, they are human in their perfections and flaws. This chair, and particularly the shape of its armrests, is inspired by the mating dance of male ostriches - banjooli in Wolof language - who stretch out their wings to show off their beauty to the female.
