Gaira daybed for Ames Living

The Gaira Daybed for Ames Living is part of the new outdoor collection, the piece translates the atmosphere of Colombia’s Caribbean coast into a refined contemporary setting. Named after the coastal village of Gaira, the design reflects the rhythm and openness of daily life in the Colombian Caribbean. Its generous, low-slung form evokes moments of rest and social exchange—afternoons spent outdoors, music in the air, and a way of living shaped by warmth and ease. A robust structure crafted from sustainably sourced black locust wood defines the architectural frame, while the handwoven surface introduces a softer, tactile dimension. Executed using the traditional Momposino technique in a precise two-tone 4–4 fiber pattern, the weave expresses both technical mastery and cultural depth.
